The Brookview Manor Inn
Classic Elegance with Old World Charm

By Samantha Parks 263

Looking for timeless elegance and classic beauty for your destination wedding? Then look no further than The Brookview Manor Inn located in Canadensis, PA in the Pocono Mountains. Purchased back in 2001 by Gaile & Marty Horowitz who decided they needed a change of life when their youngest daughter left for college, the couple from Long Island looked long and hard for their future investment. After lots of searching they finally happened upon the Brookview Manor Inn and they both instantly fell in love and the rest is history.

Situated on a little over 5 acres and overlooking the Brodhead Creek, the Inn is surrounded by over 200 acres of privately owned wooded land. The main house is a Victorian style and the lawns are nestled under towering hemlocks with a gorgeous view where each season reflects the beauty of nature. In winter, the hemlocks drip with snow while spring is lush and green. The summer boasts the blooming gardens and who could resist an outdoor wedding with the colors of autumn in the Poconos?

259The Brookview Manor Inn offers several different options when it comes to how you want to share your big day. The “Just the two of us” elopement package includes your ceremony in the gazebo, gardens or in front of the fireplace and your choice of Jacuzzi room or Elegant suite, along with champagne, breakfast the next morning and goodies for you to take along home. The “Intimate Affair” includes everything for the couple that the elopement package offers but adds in the wedding cake, candlelight dinner for the bride and groom (additional guests are $25pp.), and Champagne toast for all.

The Brookview Manor Inn specializes in the small intimate affairs and can handle up to 50 people comfortably. There are 10 guest rooms in the main house and some of the rooms sleep 4. Gaile and Marty will assist the couple with every aspect of their wedding or the bride can bring in their own vendors with the exception of the food and liquor. 280

When it comes to choosing your menu for the reception, you have so many different options. You can pick a small 2 hour luncheon to the traditional 5 hour affair with a cocktail hour, butlered
hors d’oeuvres, platters and displays followed by a 5 course dinner. You will have the opportunity to sit down with the chef and customize the menu that is perfect for you and your guests.

268Gaile welcomes you to call and make an appointment with her to walk around the grounds and talk with her about what you would like for your day. They have something for everyone and can work within any budget. For more information visit or call 570.595.2451.
