Ask the Expert: Dr. Bud Tarreto, ND; CNC
As a Naturopathic Doctor for the past 18 years, I have found that one of the biggest concerns of women, especially those getting ready for the big day, is their skin health. There is a formula for skin health and it is very simple: Healthy Cells = Healthy Skin!
However, there are challenges to overcome for healthy skin:
Although difficult to define at times, healthy skin has the ability to respond to challenges that would otherwise undermine its structure and function; such as sunlight, tanning beds, chemicals in cosmetics, unhealthy foods we eat and not enough water on a daily basis.
You have total control to all of the above undermining ingredients that are damaging to healthy skin.
Eliminating over exposure in the sun, tanning beds and making wise cosmetic choices are rather easy to control, but what about getting the proper nutrients and enough water on a daily basis? Too many of us do not have the slightest idea of how to maintain good health within the cells of the body and that is the key to a healthy skin. All we have to do is take care of this inner healing force.
Over the years of helping women maintain a healthy skin, I have found that a few basic recommendations have provided a solid foundation for a healthy skin now, on that special day and beyond.
- Water: water makes up 70% to 85% of the cells in the body and provides elasticity for a younger looking and smooth skin. The rule of thumb is ½ of your body weight in ounces of water daily. Coffee, juices (lots of sugar), and sodas don’t count and not good!
- Nutrition: that means good choices of foods; complex carbohydrates (vegetables), protein (amino acids), lipids (essential fatty acids), vitamins and minerals.
Much of the role of nutrition skin health focuses on the effects of deficiency. Outside influences of UV, oxygen, oxidizing chemicals increase the need for proper nutritional support. Just about everyone I know does not get enough proper nutrition and water on a daily basis, particularly the nutrients that help prevent oxidation of the cells, which leads to premature aging of the skin.
I have found an easy resolve to supporting the body’s needs for the precious nutrients needed for healthy cells and healthy skin; uTHRiV’s product line. Starting with +5, a simple and easy to use drink that combines lots of antioxidants (needed for healthy skin), that contains five fruits and vegetables in wholes leaf aloe extract, a natural fiber (for proper digestion) and a great combination of vitamins.
We mentioned the need for essential fatty acids necessary for a healthy skin. uTHRiV provides a great essential fatty acid from their Vibe Nutritional Product line; Omega 3-6-9. A few other benefits of essential fatty acids: improved hair health and helps improve hormonal balance. There are many more health benefits, not enough room to mention.
If you want to complete the recommendation for a healthier skin, include the NutriKare provided by uTHRiV Vibe Nutritional’s. NutriKare provides the necessary amino acids and other nutrients needed as building blocks for younger, vibrant and glowing skin. NutriKare is a great snack or meal replacement.
